Troy Aikman

Troy Aikman is referred as one of "The Triplets" with the two legendary Dallas Cowboys Players Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin. The three-time Superbowl Champion is known as one the greatest quarterbacks of all-time. Drafted as the first overall pick in 1989 from UCLA, everyone had high expectations on Aikman in the NFL. By the time his Rookie season ended, He had thrown for 1,749 yards, 9 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions. After coach Jimmy Johnson saw his 18 interceptions in his quarterback's first season, Johnson still had faith in Aikman. He knew that Aikman would blossum into an All-Pro. In Aikman's second season as a starter for the Cowboys, Aikman threw for 2,579 yards, 11 TDs, and 18 Int. However, Troy Aikman nearly led the Cowboys to the playoffs. In 1991, he lowered his interception rate from 18 to 10, and the Cowboys made it to the playoffs. By the time the Cowboys made it to the NFC Divisional Playoff Game, they lost to the Detroit Lions 38-6. With a terrible season ending, Aikman still was elected to his first out of six Pro Bowls. In 1992, Aikman set career highs in completions (302), passing yards (3,445) and touchdown passes (23), and led his team to the playoffs with a reord of 13-3. Finally the Cowboys made it to Superbowl XXVII against the Buffalo Bills. The Cowboys crushed the Bills with a score of 52-17. Troy Aikman was named superbowl MVP with 273 yards and 4TDs. After the season ended, he was elected to his second Pro Bowl.

Aikman went on to win Superbowl XXVIII and XXX. When Troy Aikman announced his retirement, he had 32,942 yards, 165 Touchdowns, and 141 Interceptions. He went on to be elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006, known as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time.
